Real Talk

It’s pretty basic: talk about things that really matter, real stories in your life that have affected who you are and who you want to become.

You’d be surprised how many doors open when you tell people something real, intimate, and emotional about yourself, then listen to them while they do the same.

It has nothing to do with profit, but everything to do with becoming a human being, connecting with other people in real ways, and having more meaningful conversations and relationships.

I’ve watched people weep as they tell me some of the most painful moments and laugh hysterically as they’ve told me their most joyful.

Real talk is what life is. But it’s not just about listening, which is often misunderstood, it’s actually about trying to understand. Because the biggest lie the devil ever told is that life is all about you. The real secret is that it’s all about the person sitting across from you and understanding why they are the way they are.

Forget about yourself, let go, flow, and watch the world grow. Then, all you have to do is sit on a branch and soak up the warmth as it grows closer and closer to the sun.
